Mcdonalds
McDonald's photo shoot - Behind the scenes
I watched the McDonald's photo shoot- Behind the scenes. The purpose of this video was to show the difference between the quarter pounder with cheese to the one that is advertised on television.
The things they change are:
- The fillings in the burger has to be arranged to show the viewers that there are a mixture of ingredients in the burger its self. They do this because McDonald's don't rearrange their fillings and just put everything in the middle so you can just see the edge of the plain looking burger.
- They actually melt down the cheese slightly to show it is fresh looking, and not one that has been sitting on a self for months.
- Also the size of the burger is changed so they make it bolder and brighter.
People are sitting at home watching the television seeing that advert and thinking "dose it really look like that when I buy a quarter pounder? "No" The advertising people for McDonald's are spending more time on one burger, rather than the millions of burgers that are being sold across the world. This is one reason for people to become obese because they see this "perfect looking burger" and have to have it, but then it may lead to addiction.

Ghost Story
Louise lifted the silver chamber stick to her lips, with the tiniest breath the candle went out. Smoke rising in a soft weaving plume. Behind her, a sudden white glow caught her attention. She turned to see a white lady, dressed in a waterfall of silk, with long white curls over pale skin.
“Will you come with me?” whispered the white lady, slowly extending a pale white hand out to her.
“To where?” Louise asked.
“To Dream’s End, and new beginnings.” she whispered back.
Louise shakily took her hand, and the white glow enveloped her. And all that she knew paled into insignificance.

5 Card Flikr
Happily it
all happened on the night of Halloween. Well I was my birthday wasn't it? On
the morning of my birthday my mum woke me up handing me my presents. When
opening the last present I thought I had, she passed an envelope and placed I on
the end of my bed. Nervously I opened it carefully, and found out to my
surprise that they were backstage passes to the Rihanna concert I’d wanted to
go to.
“Do you like your present?”
“Of course I
do I couldn't have wished for a better birthday, thanks mum I shouted”
“Well it’s
not over yet, I've got one last thing to give you and I think you’re going to
love it she said”
Mum put on
her coat the quickest I've ever seen anyone, and skipped out the door. “Where
are you going, I panicked?"
“Come on get in the car I'm going to give you a birthday
you will never forget!."
“You already
have”.
We both got
in the car and headed out to town; well that’s what I thought anyway. Mum didn't say one thing while we were in the car. As we were strolling down the street, she
stopped at a small shop called “Unusual Pets”. I looked at her with a confused
face. Cautiously I trailed behind. Until. She pointed at a baby lizard lying on
a pile of dirt and leaves.
“You mean,
this is mine?”
“Yes, happy birthday”
“Thank you
so much, I couldn't have asked for anything more”
“Kate’s
coming tonight so you can show her him, before you go trick or treating.”
“Yes of
course”
I ended up calling him Drazil, which is lizard
backwards. Kate was getting dropped off at our house at around 5 o'clock, so she
could get ready and have her tea at our house. That time soon came around, and
we were sitting at the table eating my mum’s home-made pasta, it was delicious.
Kate her name is. My cousin, who gave me a large box of chocolates and £10. I quickly showed her Drazil and then, soon Kate was ready at the door in her bright pumpkin costume, waiting for me.
I ten came down the stairs with my scary witch costume on. The first step we
took out the door, all we heard was complete silence which was strange. We both
looked at each other and I told Kate not to worry to carry on as normal. Cherry
Lane we lived on, and as we came to the end of that lane there was a house that
looked like a tall dark building that should be in a horror film, we did
hesitate to knock on the door, but something told me not to. “Come on, let’s go,
I demanded. As we turned on to the next lane we arrived at at small house that
was lodged in
between to giant houses.
I decided to
knock three times and wait 2 minutes, a minute had pasted and suddenly an old
frail woman opened the squeaky wooden door. “Hello she whispered in a timid voice”.
Before I could even say a word Kate screamed
“Trick or
Treat”
She screamed
it that loud it gave the poor woman a fright. The woman’s hand was shaking that
much that she could barely hold the bowl of sweets she had.
“Here you go
girls, she said”
“Thanks, we whispered together”
After
knocking on people’s houses on that lane, we decided to head home and watch a
scary film with mum.
“Mum were
home, I said”
She was sat
on a chair as we showed her our collection of treats. Me an Kate ended up
sharing all our sweets and giving some to mum.
The door went
and I answered it, I was startled by Kate’s dad wearing the scream mask. Before
she went I thanked her for my presents and making my birthday even better. When
she had gone I watched another film with my mum on our own before going asleep.

Mountaineering Story
British climbers killed by avalanche in French Alps
A British climber (Rodger Payne) who was looked up
to, as former chief executive mountaineering of the council, was with other Britons
which sadly died after an avalanche struck on the slopes on Mount Maudit.
Another British mountaineering climber said in an
interview he would have done everything the same as Rodger, and no one could
have predicted that was going to happen. At the end of the interview he says he’s
shocked and saddened after hearing of his death. Rodger Payne was one of the
most enthusiastic climbers in the UK, he had a track record of Alpine and Himalayas mountaineering, a lot of people respected him.
The other mountaineers that were killed were said
to be from Germany, Spain and Switzerland. The other two British climbers had
said to taken a different route and returned back to Chamonix, where they then
told the police they were safe and to not look for them. When the avalanche apparently
struck when they were 4,000 off the ground.
On the morning no one expected such a large
avalanche and tragedy. But on the other hand they did know it is a steep face
to climb, and avalanches can occur easily, so it was still a risk. Some people referred
the mountain as being a “black spot”. The avalanche got described as being the
most deadly one they have ever seen in the past years.
Mount Maudit is now known as the “cursed mountain”.

£1.74
On a daily
basis I would:
· At night sleep in a shelter where
they give you clean blankets and warmth.
· Look around in supermarket skips that
have thrown away unopened packets of food, that are going out of date but still edible that day.
· Buy Asda's own 2 litre bottle of water for 17p
· Buy shower jell for 50p
which will last 1 week.
· Buy Snack bag of fruit for 30p
· Use public toilets
· Buy a
reduced sandwich which costs 50p
In total I have spent £1.47 and saved 27p it may not seem much but after I
week I will have £1.89 as well as my £1.74. Also I am saving 50p by making the shower jell last so i will have 50p more than i would usually have at the end of the week.
